Air Force Association (Western Australian Division) Incorporated trading as RAAFA

"Going above and beyond to deliver a full range of supported living services to all Western Australians"

RAAFA Community Culture

RAAFA is an organisation committed to caring for communities across Western Australia. Notably it supports veterans and their families, but it provides services to meet the needs of anyone who may require or desire support as they get older – whether that be help in the home, residential aged care, or a beautiful place to retire. In fact, it is the largest not for profit provider in the state. Its growth over many years comes down to its commitment to excellence in care and heritage. This unique approach sees RAAFA run a series of licensed clubs and one of the most extensive collections of aviation artifacts in Australia, curated at its Bull Creek complex, a museum open to the public.

We are a membership association who strives for authentic, genuine relationships, with customers, members, residents, their family and friends – but also with our own people. This is what makes RAAFA a wonderful place. Our happy staff and volunteers set our work apart. Together we have created an environment we are very proud of.

The RAAFA Way

Our values are a significant part of being able to sustain this, and we know that values aren't constrained by where you are, or who you are talking to. They stay with you when you sit down with someone for a cup of tea, and when you are online.

Our digital community

RAAFA's social media channels offer us some positive ways to share. They keep you up to date with what's happening at RAAFA and other stories we think might be of interest to our community. We also appreciate hearing from you as we strongly believe that a community is best served when it is both engaged and respectful.

In order to maintain a place of camaraderie and support we do our best to ensure the postings on our pages are in line with RAAFA's values. To this end, we ask that when you also share, you are mindful of the range of people we represent and are respectful of this group of people as a whole.

RAAFA reserves the right to remove any posts that don't adhere to our community culture. We may also take the decision to block people if they choose to ignore it. We do this on the basis we have a responsibility to the many over the few, but we do believe all voices have value and if there ever is an issue you wish to raise, we encourage you to share via our online contact form.

To help best guide our community culture, please note the kinds of posts we don't tolerate:

  • Abusive, harassing, stalking, threatening or personally attacking others
  • Defamatory, offensive, obscene or violent language
  • Hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs
  • Links or comments containing sexually explicit material
  • Violations of copyright or intellectual property rights
  • Spam, link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage the operation of other people's computers or mobile devices
  • Attacks on specific groups or any comments meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual
  • Commercial solicitations
