Overview
According to residents at RAAFA's Merriwa Estate, the retirement living community is the place to enjoy the second half of life.
Consisting of 234 two bedroom and six three bedroom retirement living units, a 78 bed residential aged care centre, with an additional 32 beds coming online in September.
Significantly, 'Merriwa' is an Aboriginal word meaning 'a good place', which many residents say is completely appropriate given the many lifestyle benefits of living in the community.
There are some many different activities happening on the estate, whatever your interests, the chances are that you'll be able to continue your hobbies, as well as finding new ones.
One resident explained that you can be as sociable or as quiet as you want to be, while at the same time having the peace of mind of 24 hour security. "I'm a very sociable person, but you can basically do whatever you want to here, there is no pressure at all", she said.
"I just love it here and would recommend it to anyone."
